Step 1: Check the size and format
The tool above is preselected to 9216 KB. Choose one JPEG, PNG or WebP image from your device. If a service specifies JPG or another supported type, use the Output format control to match it.

Use this page when you need an image below, under, less than, up to or maximum 9 MB. Larger MB targets are helpful for higher-quality uploads, thumbnails and web images without relying on server-side processing.

Instructions for this target
How to compress an image below 9 MB
A 9 MB budget may suit high-detail reference photos in a private digital-asset portal, without claiming any named service uses this number.
Step 2: Adjust settings for 9 MB
Leave dimensions alone unless needed for the recipient. When the original is already below 9 MB, extra compression is unlikely to improve visible quality.
If you enter a width or height, use Resize and compress and keep Keep aspect ratio checked to avoid stretching. Resize only does not enforce a file-size limit.
Step 3: Verify the download
Select the compress button, inspect the before-and-after previews and check the output size and dimensions. Download only after the size verifies below 9 MB and the image still looks suitable.
A file-size pass does not mean it meets every third-party image requirement.
About this example
The use case above illustrates what someone might do with a 9 MB budget. It is not a claim that any named organisation requires this exact limit. Check your receiving service's published maximum, accepted format and required dimensions.

Other useful target sizes
Large MB limits usually preserve more detail than strict KB targets, but the final image is still checked against the selected maximum before download.
